Etwas spät möchte ich diesen heutigen speziellen buddhistischen Feiertag
Magha Puja, oder auch
Meak Bochea in Kambodscha genannt, freudig erwähnen.

Although a little late I would like to remind of this special Buddhist holiday today called
Magha Puja or
Meak Bochea, as it is called in Cambodia.
This day is a Uposatha day on which practising laity especially offers food to people in need in monasteries and also to monks on their almsrounds on the way. Some lay people would also go to the temple to ask for the 8 or 10 Silas (ethical virtue rules) and would spend one or more days in the monastery in search of the truth.
This holiday also commemorates the assembly of 1250 monks who came to see the Tathagata without any prior agreement. On this occasion the Buddha is said to have foretold his passing away which would take place three months later, and also to have given the speech
