Once one makes an issue ones own, unskilful states of mind will follow. The effect of ones good concidered giving for another aren't in ones control, while the maintaining of ones toughts are to a certain extent.
This training isn't one to control things as one wishes them to be but focous on what could I let go off so that it is of use for the receiver. It's not even sure that the receiver would be happy of your giving. Neither is it under your conroll whether he would be willing or capable to receive but that isn't you main focus because you wouldn't know for the most time, as well you wouldn't know if it would be of help. It could be even the opposite if the receiver takes on it wrong.
Sure much knowledge but most over good observance is of help here yet a spontanious gift has it's effect as well, sometimes even more less with desire of control. You offer and let go of both, your gift and the objectives and thought effects outwardly of your sphere "may it be for you welfare and happiness". And for your remembering you good deeds you remember you goodness and not things like "I did it", "I was who made that". Sure, certain success might be a quick rippen fruit of you deed or deeds before and brings additional joy, but it would be wrong if such does not arise to be seen in direct relation, that you good action was a failure.
So it's good to focuse not on fruits but simply on the way things are done, you pleasure in letting go, your freedom of choices. The receivers part is his and of course the more worthy in receiving gifts the higher the effects, before giving, while, and after.
