7. Jigucchitabbasutta - Should be loathed

27. "Bhikkhus, these three persons are evident in the world. Which three? A certain person should be loathed, should not be associated. The second should be looked after not associated and the third should be associated. Bhikkhus, which person should be loathed and not associated. Here a certain person is unvirtuous, with evil thoughts like rubbish, with secret actions, with only a promise to recluseship, festering inside and filth oozing out. Bhikkhus, this kind of person should be loathed, should not be associated. What is the reason? In some way if this person is not imitated, ill fame spreads, this is an evil friend, an associate of evil. Just as a serpent with excreta on its body would not sting anyone, for he smears excreta. In the same manner an unvirtuous person with evil thoughts similar to rubbish, with secret actions, with only a promise to recluseship, festering inside and filth oozing out should be loathed, should not be associated.

"Bhikkhus, what kind of person should be carefully watched, not associated? Bhikkhus, a certain person is angry and has grudges. When a few words are told he becomes angry swears and retorts angrily showing anger and displeasure, like a festered sore touched by a clod or stone would ooze much pus. Or like a heap of rotting food in a monastery when hit with a clod or stone would give a hissing sound. Or like a heap of excreta when hit with a clod or stone would give an evil smell Bhikkhus, in like manner a person with a mind comparable to a sore is angry, has grudges and when a few words are told he becomes angry, swears and retorts angrily showing anger and displeasure. Bhikkhus, this person should be carefully watched, not associated. What is the reason? He may scold me, rebuke me and do me some harm. Therefore this person should be carefully watched, not associated.

"Bhikkhus, what kind of person should be closely associated? Here a certain person is virtuous, with good behaviour. Such a person should be associated closely. What is the reason? If for some reason this person is imitated, good fame spreads. He is a good friend, behaves well. Such a person should be associated. These three persons are evident in the world."

"Associating someone low is deterioration,
Associating an equal there's no deterioration
Therefore bend down to a superior,
It is quick growth."

7. Jigucchitabbasutta - Zu meiden

27. "Bhikkhus, da sind diese drei Person zu finden in der Welt. Welche drei? Eine gewisse Person, die gemieden werden, mit der man sich nicht abgeben sollte. Der zweiten sollte man vorsichtig beobachten, sich nicht mit ihr abgeben und mit der dritten sollte man sich abgeben.

Bhikkhus, welche Person sollte man meiden, sich mit ihr nicht abgeben? Da ist der Fall, daß eine Person untugendhaft ist, mit schlechten Gedanken wie Schmutz, mit verdeckten Handlungen, mit blosem Versprechen zur Zugehörigkeit, innerlich verdorben, Unrat nach Außensickernd. Bhikkhus, diese Art von Person sollte gemieden werden, man sich nicht mit ihr abgeben. Was ist der Grund? Selbst wenn man die Person nicht nachahmt, mag sich Schlechtes über einen verbreiten: 'Dies ist ein schlechter Freund, ein Verbündeter des Bösen.' Da mag eine mit Kotbeschmierte Schlange einen nicht beisen, doch immer noch mit Kot beschmieren. In selber Weise sollte eine Person, die untugendhaft ist, mit schlechten Gedanken wie Schmutz, mit verdeckten Handlungen, mit blosem Versprechen zur Zugehörigkeit, innerlich verdorben, Unrat nach Außen sickernd, vermeiden, sich nicht mit ihr abgeben.

"Bhikkhus, welche Art von Person sollte man vorsichtig beobachte, sich nicht mit ihr abgeben? Da ist der Fall, daß eine Person zornig ist, Groll in sich trägt. Wenn ein paar Worte gesagt, wird er zornig fluchend, entgegnet böswillig, Zorn und Unbehagen zeigend. Wie eine eiternde Wunde, mit einem Klumpen oder Stein berührt, viel Eiter ausdringen ließe, oder wie ein Haufen verrottendes Essen in einem Kloster, wenn mit einem Klumpen oder Stein getroffen, einen zischenden Klang geben würde, oder ein Haufen von Extrementen, wenn mit einem Klumpen oder Stein getroffen, schlechten Geruch abgeben würde: Buikkhus, in selber Weise ist eine Person, mit einem Geist vergleichbar einer Entzündung, zornig, trägt Groll in sich. Wenn ein paar Worte gesagt, wird er zornig fluchend, entgegnet böswillig, Zorn und Unbehagen zeigend. Bhikkhus, diese Person sollte man vorsichtig beobachten, sich nicht mit ihr abgeben. Was ist der Grund? 'Sie mag schelten, tadeln und mir Verletzung antun. Deshalb sollte man diese Person vorsichtig beobachten, sich nicht mit ihr abgeben.

"Bhikkhus, mit welcher Person sollte man sich innig abgeben? Da ist der Fall, daß eine Person tugendhaft ist, von gutem Verhalten. Mit solch einer Person sollte man sich innig abgeben. Was ist das? Selbst wenn man die Person nicht nachahmt, mag sich Gutes über einen verbreiten: 'Dies ist ein guter Freund, sich gut verhaltend.' Mit solch einer Person sollte man sich abgeben. Diese Drei Personen sind in der Welt zu finden.

"Sich mit Niedrigeren abgeben, ist Verfall,
Sich mit Gleichen abgeben, kein Verfall,
Deshalb gebt Euch einem Erhaberneren hin,
Rasch ist das Gedeihen."

[២៧] ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គល ៣ពួកនេះ រមែងមាននៅក្នុងលោក។  បុគ្គល៣ពួក តើដូចម្ដេច។ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គលដែលគេគួរខ្ពើម មិនគួរសេព មិនគួរគប់រក មិនគួរចូលទៅអង្គុយជិត ១ ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គលដែលគេគួរព្រងើយកន្តើយ មិនគួរសេព មិនគួរគប់រក មិនគួរចូលទៅអង្គុយជិត ១ ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គលដែលគេគួរសេព គួរគប់រក គួរចូលទៅអង្គុយជិត ១។  ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ ចុះបុគ្គលដែលគួរខ្ពើម មិនគួរសេព មិនគួរគប់រក មិនគួរចូលទៅអង្គុយជិត តើដូចម្ដេច។  ម្នាលភិក្ខុ​ទាំង​ឡាយ បុគ្គលពួកខ្លះ ក្នុងលោកនេះ ជាអ្នកទ្រុស្តសីល មានធម៌ដ៏លាមក មិនស្អាត មានកិរិយាមារយាទ ប្រកបដោយសេចក្ដីរង្កៀស មានការងារលាក់លៀមទុក មិនមែនជាសមណៈ ប្ដេជ្ញាថាជាសមណៈ មិនមែនជាព្រហ្មចារី ប្ដេជ្ញាថាជាព្រហ្មចារី ស្អុយខាងក្នុង មាន​ចិត្តជោគជាំដោយរាគៈ មានចិត្តជ្រោកជ្រាក។  ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គលមាន​សភាព​យ៉ាងនេះ ឈ្មោះថា ជាបុគ្គលដែលគេគួរខ្ពើម មិនគួរសេព មិនគួរគប់រក មិនគួរចូលទៅអង្គុយជិត។  ដំណើរនោះ ព្រោះហេតុអ្វី។ ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ ព្រោះថា បុគ្គលមិន​លុះទៅ​តាម​ដំណើរទិដ្ឋិ របស់បុគ្គលមានសភាពយ៉ាងនេះ ក៏ពិតមែនហើយ ប៉ុន្តែថា បុគ្គលនោះ គង់មានកិត្តិសព្ទដ៏លាមក ល្បីឡើងថា បុរស​បុគ្គលមានមិត្តអាក្រក់ មានសំឡាញ់អាក្រក់ មានគូកនអាក្រក់។  ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ ដូចជាពស់លូនទៅក្នុងលាមក ទុកជាមិនចិក ក៏ពិតមែន ប៉ុន្តែថា លាមក គង់ប្រឡាក់ពស់នោះមិនខាន យ៉ាងណា ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គលមិនលុះទៅតាមដំណើរទិដ្ឋិ របស់​បុគ្គល​មានសភាពយ៉ាងនេះ ក៏ពិតមែន ប៉ុន្តែថា បុគ្គលនោះ មានកិត្តិសព្ទ ដ៏លាមក ល្បីឡើងថា បុរសបុគ្គល មានមិត្តអាក្រក់ មាន​សំឡាញ់​អាក្រក់ មានគូកនអាក្រក់ ក៏យ៉ាងនោះដែរ។  ព្រោះហេតុនោះ បុគ្គលមានសភាពយ៉ាងនេះ ឈ្មោះថា ជាបុគ្គល​ដែល​គេគួរ​ខ្ពើម មិនគួរសេព មិនគួរគប់រក មិនគួរចូល​ទៅអង្គុយ​ជិត។  ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ ចុះបុគ្គលដែលគេគួរព្រងើយកន្តើយ មិនគួរសេព មិន​គួរ​គប់រក មិនគួរចូលទៅអង្គុយជិត តើដូចម្ដេច។  ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គលពួកខ្លះ ក្នុងលោកនេះ ជាអ្នកក្រោធ ច្រើន​ដោយ​សេចក្ដីតានតឹង សូម្បីគេនិយាយតែបន្តិចបន្តួច ក៏ជាប់ចិត្តក្រោធ ព្យាបាទ ប្រកាន់រឹងត្អឹង ធ្វើសេចក្ដីក្រោធ ទោសៈ និង​សេចក្ដី​មិន​សប្បាយចិត្ត ឲ្យប្រាកដឡើង។  ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ ដូចជាដំបៅចាស់ ដែលត្រូវប៉ះទង្គិច ដោយកំណាត់ឈើ ឬអំបែង រមែង​ក្លាយ​ឡើង លើសប្រមាណយ៉ាងណា ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គលពួកខ្លះ ក្នុងលោកនេះ ជាអ្នកក្រោធ ច្រើនដោយសេចក្ដីតានតឹង សូម្បី​គេនិយាយ​តែបន្តិចបន្តួច ក៏ជាប់ចិត្តក្រោធ ព្យាបាទ ប្រកាន់រឹងត្អឹង ធ្វើសេចក្ដីក្រោធ ទោសៈ និងសេចក្ដីមិនសប្បាយចិត្ត ឲ្យប្រាកដ​ឡើង យ៉ាងនោះឯង។  ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ ដូចជាអង្កត់ភ្លើងឧសដង្កោ ដែលគេកៀស ដោយកំណាត់ឈើ ឬអំបែង រមែងធ្វើ​សំឡេង ឮចិចិដៈ[1] ធ្វើសំឡេង ឮចិដិចិដៈ ដោយក្រៃលែង លើស​ប្រមាណ​យ៉ាង​ណា ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គលពួកខ្លះ ក្នុងលោកនេះ ជាអ្នកក្រោធ ច្រើនដោយសេចក្ដីតានតឹង សូម្បីគេនិយាយបន្តិចបន្តួច ក៏​ជាប់​ចិត្តក្រោធ ព្យាបាទ ប្រកាន់រឹងត្អឹង ធ្វើសេចក្ដីក្រោធ ទោសៈ និងសេចក្ដី មិនសប្បាយចិត្ត ឲ្យប្រាកដឡើង ក៏យ៉ាងនោះដែរ។  ម្នាល​ភិក្ខុទាំង​ឡាយ ដូចជារណ្ដៅលាមក ដែលបុគ្គលឆ្កឹស ដោយកំណាត់ឈើ ឬអំបែង រមែងមានក្លិនស្អុយដោយក្រៃលែង លើស​ប្រមាណ យ៉ាងណា ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គលពួកខ្លះ ក្នុងលោកនេះ ជាអ្នកក្រោធ ច្រើនដោយសេចក្ដីតានតឹង សូម្បីតែ​គេនិយាយ​បន្តិច​បន្តួច ក៏ជាប់ចិត្តក្រោធ ព្យាបាទ ប្រកាន់រឹងត្អឹង ធ្វើសេចក្ដីក្រោធ ទោសៈ និងសេចក្ដីមិនសប្បាយចិត្ត ឲ្យប្រាកដឡើង ក៏យ៉ាង​នោះដែរ។  ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គលមានសភាពយ៉ាងនេះ ឈ្មោះថា ជាបុគ្គលដែលគេគួរព្រងើយកន្តើយ មិនគួរសេព មិនគួរ​គប់រក មិនគួរចូលទៅអង្គុយជិត។  ដំណើរនោះ ព្រោះហេតុអ្វី។  ព្រោះគេគិតថា ជន (នេះ) គប្បីជេរអាត្មាអញខ្លះ ផ្ដាសា​អាត្មាអញ​ខ្លះ ធ្វើអាត្មាអញ ឲ្យខូចប្រយោជន៍ខ្លះ។  ព្រោះហេតុនោះ បុគ្គលមានសភាពយ៉ាងនេះ ឈ្មោះថា ជាបុគ្គល ដែល​គេគួរព្រងើយ​កន្តើយ មិនគួរសេព មិនគួរគប់រក មិនគួរចូលទៅអង្គុយជិត។  ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ ចុះបុគ្គលដែលគេគួរសេព គួរគប់រក គួរចូល​ទៅ​អង្គុយជិត តើដូចម្តេច។  ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គលពួកខ្លះ ក្នុងលោកនេះ មានសីល មានកល្យាណធម៌។  ម្នាលភិក្ខុ​ទាំង​ឡាយ បុគ្គលមានសភាពយ៉ាងនេះឈ្មោះថា ជាបុគ្គលគួរសេព គួរគប់រក គួរចូលទៅអង្គុយជិត។ ដំណើរនោះ ព្រោះហេតុអ្វី។  ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំង​ឡាយ បុគ្គលមិនលុះទៅតាមដំណើរទិដ្ឋិ របស់​បុគ្គលមានសភាពយ៉ាងនេះ ក៏ពិតមែន ប៉ុន្តែបុគ្គលនោះ គង់មានកិត្តិសព្ទ ដ៏ពីរោះ ល្បីឡើងថា បុរសបុគ្គល មានមិត្តល្អ មានសំឡាញ់ល្អ មានគូកនល្អ។ ព្រោះហេតុនោះ បុគ្គលមានសភាពយ៉ាងនេះ ឈ្មោះថា ជាបុគ្គល​គួរសេព គួរគប់រក គួរចូល​ទៅអង្គុយជិត។ ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គល ៣ ពួកនេះ រមែងមាននៅក្នុងលោក។

បុរសអ្នកសេពគប់បុគ្គលថោកទាប រមែងសាបសូន្យ បើសេពគប់បុគ្គលស្មើគ្នា មិនគប្បីសាបសូន្យ ក្នុងកាលណាឡើយ បុរសចូលទៅ​គប់រក​បុគ្គលប្រសើរ (ជាងខ្លួន) រមែងចំរើនឆាប់ ព្រោះហេតុនោះ បុរសគួរគប់រកនឹងបុគ្គលដ៏ប្រសើរលើសខ្លួន (ទើបប្រសើរ)។

Sevitabbasutta - Should be associated

26. "Bhikkhus, these three persons are evident in the world. What three? Bhikkhus, there is a person that should not be associated, there is one that should be associated and there is another that should be honoured and revered and associated. Bhikkhus, who is the person that should not be associated? Bhikkhus, a certain person is below par in virtues, concentration and wisdom. Such should not be associated unless out of sympathy and compassion.

"Bhikkhus, who is the person that should be associated? Bhikkhus, a certain person is par in virtues, concentration and wisdom. Such should be associated. What is the reason? Those par in virtues converse on virtues, those par in concentration converse on concentration and those par in wisdom converse on wisdom. For them it becomes a pleasant abiding, therefore they should be associated.

"Bhikkhus, who is the person that should be honoured, revered and associated? Bhikkhus, a certain person is much above in virtues, concentration and wisdom. Such should be honoured, revered and associated. What is the reason? I will complete virtues not yet completed, will be satisfied seeing my completed virtues, then and there. I will complete my wisdom not yet completed and I will wisely see whether it is complete Therefore, bhikkhus, such persons should be honoured, revered and associated. Bhikkhus, these three persons are evident in the world."

Associating an equal there's no deterioration
Therefore bend down to a superior,
It is quick growth."

26. "Bhikkhus, diese drei Personen sind anzutreffen in der Welt. Welche drei? Bhikkhus, da ist eine Person, mit der man sich nicht abgeben sollte, da ist jene, mit der man sich abgeben sollte, und da ist jene, die gewürdigt und geehrt werden, mit der man sich abgeben sollte. Bhikkhus, welche ist eine Person, mit der man sich nicht abgeben sollte? Bhikkhus, da ist der Fall, daß eine Person unter Gleichheit in Tugend, Konzentration und Weisheit ist. Mit solch einer Person sollte man sich nicht abgeben, es sei den aus Fürsorge und Mitgefühl.

"Bhikkhus, welche ist die Person, mit der man sich Abgeben sollte? Bhikkhus, da ist der Fall, daß eine gewisse Person gleich in Tugend, Konzentration und Weisheit ist. Mit dieser sollte man sich abgeben. Aus welchem Grund? Jene gleich in Tugend, erhalten/unterhalten (die eigene) Tugend, jene gleich in Konzentration, erhalten Konzentration, jene gleich in Weisheit, erhalten Weisheit. Für einen wird es zu einem angenehmen Aufenthalt, deshalb sollte man sich mit ihnen abgeben.

"Bhikkhus, welche ist die Person, die gewürdigt und geehrt werden, mit der man sich abgeben sollte? Bhikkhus, da ist der Fall, daß eine Person erhabener in Tugend, Konzentration und Weisheit ist. Solch eine sollte gewürdigt und geehrt werden, mit dieser sollte man sich abgeben. Aus welchem Grund? 'Ich werde meine Tugend vervollständigen, jetzt noch nicht vervollständigt, werde befriedet darin sein, meine Tugend vervollständigt zu sehen, dort und dann. Ich werde meine Konzentration vervollständigen, jetzt noch nicht vervollständigt, werde befriedet darin sein, meine Konzentrazion vervollständigt zu sehen, dort und dann. Ich werde meine Weisheit vervollständigen, jetzt noch nicht vervollständigt, und werde weise sehen, ob sie nun vollständig ist oder nicht.' Deshal, Bhikkhus, sollte einer solch eine Person würdigen und ehren, sich mit ihr abgeben. Bhikkhus, dieses sind die drei Personen, die in der Welt zu finden sind."

Deshalb gebt Euch einem Erhaberneren hin,

 ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ ចុះបុគ្គល ដែលគេគួរសេព គួរគប់រក គួរចូលទៅអង្គុយជិត តើដូចម្ដេច។  ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គលពួកខ្លះ ក្នុងលោកនេះ ជាអ្នកស្មើគ្នា ដោយសីល សមាធិ បញ្ញា ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គលមានសភាពយ៉ាងនេះ ដែលគេគួរសេព គួរគប់រក គួរចូលទៅអង្គុយជិត។ ដំណើរនោះ ព្រោះហេតុអ្វី។

  ព្រោះគេគិតថា សីលកថា របស់ពួកសប្បុរសអ្នកមានសីលស្មើគ្នា នឹងមាន​ដល់ពួក​យើងផង សីលកថានោះ នឹងមានសេចក្ដីចំរើន ដល់ពួកយើងផង សីលកថានោះ នឹងនាំឲ្យបានសុខដល់ពួកយើងផង សមាធិ​កថា របស់ពួកសប្បុរស អ្នកមានសមាធិស្មើគ្នា នឹងមានដល់ពួកយើងផង សមាធិកថានោះ នឹងមានសេចក្ដីចំរើន ដល់ពួក​យើង​ផង សមាធិកថានោះ នឹងនាំឲ្យបានសេចក្ដីសុខ ដល់ពួកយើងផង បញ្ញាកថា របស់ពួកសប្បុរស អ្នកមានបញ្ញាស្មើគ្នា នឹងមាន​ដល់​ពួកយើងផង បញ្ញាកថានោះ នឹងមានសេចក្ដីចំរើន ដល់ពួកយើងផង បញ្ញាកថានោះ នឹងនាំឲ្យ​បាន​សេចក្ដីសុខ​ដល់​ពួក​យើង​ផង។  ហេតុនោះ បុគ្គលមានសភាពយ៉ាងនេះ ដែលគេគួរសេព គួរគប់រក គួរចូលទៅអង្គុយជិត។ ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ ចុះបុគ្គល​ដែល​គេគួរធ្វើសក្ការៈ ធ្វើសេចក្ដីគោរព ហើយទើបសេពគប់ ចូលទៅអង្គុយជិត តើដូចម្ដេច។

ម្នាល​ភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គលពួកខ្លះ ក្នុងលោកនេះ ជាអ្នកលើសដោយសីល សមាធិ បញ្ញា ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គលមាន​សភាព​យ៉ាងនេះ ដែលគួរធ្វើសក្ការៈ ធ្វើសេចក្ដីគោរព ហើយទើបសេពគប់ ចូលទៅអង្គុយជិត។ ដំណើរនោះ ព្រោះហេតុអ្វី។  ព្រោះគេ​គិត​ថា អាត្មាអញ នឹងបំពេញសីលក្ខន្ធ ដែលមិនទាន់បរិបូណ៌ ឲ្យបរិបូណ៌ឡើងផង នឹងអនុគ្រោះសីលក្ខន្ធ ដែលបរិបូណ៌ហើយ ក្នុងទី​នោះៗ ដោយបញ្ញាផង នឹងបំពេញសមាធិក្ខន្ធ ដែលមិនទាន់បរិបូណ៌ ឲ្យបរិបូណ៌ឡើងផង នឹងអនុគ្រោះសមាធិក្ខន្ធ ដែល​បរិបូណ៌​ហើយ ក្នុងទីនោះៗ ដោយបញ្ញាផង នឹងបំពេញបញ្ញាខន្ធ ដែលមិនទាន់បរិបូណ៌ ឲ្យបរិបូណ៌ឡើងផងនឹងអនុគ្រោះបញ្ញាខន្ធ ដែល​បរិបូណ៌​ហើយ ក្នុងទីនោះៗ ដោយបញ្ញាផង។  ហេតុនោះ បុគ្គលមានសភាពយ៉ាងនេះ ដែលគេគួរធ្វើសក្ការៈ ធ្វើសេចក្ដីគោរព ហើយ​ទើបសេពគប់ ចូលទៅអង្គុយជិត។  ម្នាលភិក្ខុទាំងឡាយ បុគ្គល៣ ពួកនេះ រមែងមាននៅក្នុងលោក។

បុរសអ្នកសេពគប់បុគ្គលថោកទាប រមែងសាបសូន្យ បើសេពគប់បុគ្គលស្មើគ្នា មិនគប្បីសាបសូន្យ ក្នុងកាលណាឡើយ បើបុរសចូលទៅគប់រកបុគ្គល ដែលប្រសើរ (ជាងខ្លួន) រមែងចំរើនឆាប់ ព្រោះហេតុនោះ បុរស គួរគប់នឹងបុគ្គល ដែលប្រសើរលើសខ្លួន (ទើបប្រសើរ)។
