Is there an intention to sleep?
and, it happend me to think in the past that excessive sleep could be a defilement. is it true?

How much amount of sleep is fine for the average person?
How much for a arhat?
How much potentially?

A tought came "if i don't sleep, it is not bad for mind, and it is not bad for body".
A tought came later some time "if i don't sleep, it is bad for my person".

What ever doing has intention before, Nyom. Sleep, the Buddha declared as one of four things one never would be satisfied, how much ever.

Less sleep is required to maintain Sati all around and four hours are quite enought and one wouldn't lose mindfulness even if sleeping.

There is a Tudonga-practice avoiding sleeping at all. That could of course, especially if not really gone forth, could cause problems so not recommended for householder at all.

Yet no problem, it having the possibility (no duties) to try to spend mindfull and watchfull on the four frames of referances for 24h, 48h, 72h.

For some even 24h would lead to highest release, if well instructed.

As for the world equal: lazy people sleep much and so attain less or nothing. Six hours (22h - 4h) are quite enought even if going after ordinary work.

yes, already grasped in the past

goenka cited something similar on day 7, talked about it. So i never tried. Anyway, nothing interesting really, looks stressful, why such a hobby for one's life?
May Master Goenka, so wise and knowledgable, be happy.

Will try. Need to sleep now. Was somehow prepared. Important mind intoxicants not with me.

Yet no problem, it having the possibility (no duties) to try to spend mindfull and watchfull on the four frames of referances for 24h, 48h, 72h.



By the way, still sleep after 30hr and still active. Feel more urge to eat, so now i will go eat fur sure, maybe will come back healtier. Usually don't care much coz it helps concentration and calmness in me.

Problems could be anger, boredom, need of attention, lust, intoxicants, what else? Not that interesting at the moment.
Already done good commitment and i hope for perfect 8 sila for the many hours i'll keep up with joy without sleep, or many days that's not that hard. Today think midnight or hopefully some later.
Joyful in investigation and established in perfect sila could be good intents.

No matter how many hours, just keep investigating in joy could be good enough, maybe.

Oh, what a good news!
just what planned this morning. Having seen hyperactivation, by further investigation, today i clearly observed thatwishing to be noted increased subtle arousal, then actions or speech, even if subtle, increase it again.
Then a chain takes place then. It has been kept in control, but gave rise, maybe, to the tought to bring others with me here and now before time has come?

No hyperactivation taken place. Promptly stopped. No search of attention. Promptly stopped. Noted that no chain, far less risk of hyperactivation, arousal, body mess. Continuation in dwelling, that is just as it is. Here and there, like in 16s.

please clarify "ot much focus else (incl. communication)".
Precepts not perfect but very good, much good to others and happiness for some unfortunates.
Planning other good to others who sre suffering for my regret after their actions toward my person.
Probably can prod good kamma. Need to heal, leg still bad.

Question: is it possible to fall in the opposite? While maintaining right concentration, it get very slowly muddled, or something like that? I noted some low activation from time to time, but really not sure, too many factors in play, sleep, food, my "psychology", much more. Paid remedy by somehow "waking up",
getting energy, like a child who has some sleepy attitude and reactivated?

Got contact with many people. Communication has been carefully observed. So balanced, with many unfortunate who all got benefit, for many days or weeks or more, and no attention requested.

Seen some friends of my long trip, in my second territory, the dwelling of many nights of my person during the last years, where much Dhamma has been practiced and learned. Brought happiness to a old person who i may consider a bodhisatta.


Got attentioned by beauties and nice, very balanced contact, attention not seek, nor grossly or subtly, not requested, but given when requested, in a balanced way, without craving, appreciating external beauty, not only without lust, but without movement inside the body, (even the mind?), appreciating more another kind of beauty, balanced, as wished, maybe better, experienced not for a short time but for more.

Also, please, advice: i don't know when to sleep, but my person is far unsure he's "ready" or it is a good idea to not go and sleep/rest.
But other good activities are done during the time, which joy, good effort, good intention, discovering, arising of knowledge, overall calm when in activity and practicing calmness from time to time to get stabilization. Like recollecting and writing here.
What should i consider about sleeping/resting?

Nyom. Mindful on the body slow moving, no conversations, unless for drinks, food, medicine, real needs. No visual contacts, looking around, what ever socialization. Bodily calmed, using the very light breath, being mindful on feeling, mind quality, to calm down all mental-fabrictaions. Reflecting the four noble trought within.

Sleep is fine. 22:00 - 2:00 or 3:00. Falling asleep mindful on breath, alert, determined to wake up at that and that time. No alarm required (no support for reminder). Eating sunset. and 11:00. Evening tonic, fruit dring, black coffee, sugared tee, water. cleaning, sorting of the dwelling, carry away dust dirt and un-needed. Placing all proper, less disturbing, 1,2 h. Or focus on that, if a mess, while mindful on body.

Mindfulness on body all around, acting slow, knowing each move, posture, steady calming. Knowing all Phenomena(bodily, mental) arising, decaying, getting known, looking deeper, finer.

When Mara tells: hey, you can others help first. Telling "i can't, not at all free from craving and craving to help others first most, to have an excuse, not to do my own task. And not sure if I will have further possibility to work on, as death or hindrance could appear right the next breath.

Asking is mostly fine. Not to much interest to wishing to report an share.

What if sit, or standing, sometimes while slow moving, looks like all the body is at total ease, like no gravity, and feeling energy concentrated on 6th chakra? Energy movements, like circles, on this level has been experienced.

Maybe better concentration happened outside, possible no intentions were in place except of moving for walk and take right ways?
Mind not registering memories while so concentrated, possible?
But think writing is not bad atm so i'll short down writing in general, and will read only here. practicing some perfect behaviour till possible.

sp please provide any useful advice for next times. Tips for leg illness if possible

better to be mindful and live or to meditate and contemplate stimulus? Quite silent house when at home.

Is there a kind of energy somewhere at 3rd level chakra which, if activated, brings "body energy" boom on the border, cleaning, and then body is calm and well felt, time slow down? If yes what is it?
