And the way back into the cave... after long hard work near the village.

Another day no sleep and influenza brought Atma to hide up for an hour in one of the silent pleasing Kutis, disappeared for a while.

Now starting to sort the 'chaos', brought back all tools and cast of material. And it started with second 'deportation' of the mouse family, eager in destroying tools for house building. Installed a new house outside the store for the last and only child left.

Villagers steady approaching to ask for being welcome to join the path work.

Finished, heavy rains set in.

Now given all away, it's of course occasion for  As common people would hardly care if not eager told: do so and so, again and again. Or simply just wait till the wave passes by again.

Nothing to worry, tomorrow will be again a shower, and other tanks might still bear some water.

The days after the ancestor fests till harvest the villages are usual empty, all in the forests of the mountain, but this year, for the first time, not for cutting wood, killing animals, occupy land, but for beneficial purpose, joining merits by labor in advance.

So the alms round leaded till the north monastery. Atma could gain one of the many cast off old bowls there, and so able to sacrifice the very old and damaged one for the imagination of the Tathāgata.

Harvest-time started, so also the most faithful didn't find any more time for services.

The last days Atma spend with collecting all tools, back into the store hut, from the maany and far sides.
Also efforts to reactivate all watertanks at the Ashram, since all are empty and had to be also prepeared. Finished yesterday, possible fit for the soon last strong rain before month of dry.

Also used off all painting color for tthe Ahirajametta Sala.

Today started to complete a stair and pavement at the upper kuti, so that rain water would fill up the pool.

All focus on water, sorting (to be able to move on every day without remorse) things to be left behind proper.

Just now Nyom Chanroth came up, bringing tablet and lap tops back (seemingly not used for buying food). Atma has send all Uposatha hall workers back two days ago, till the donor might came along. Chanroth just fetched his things and so Atma will need to put the other tools proper later. Much to do.

A "I came for 'fun' and to look around" monk came up and was of course caste away by Atma.

Yesterday, while on alms, boys picked all orchids that can be found around the Ashram. Just wishing to carry the begs back, Atma came across and they run away, yet told to go to the village chief and tell what they did.

Atma took the hunt and carried all to the village chiefthrow the thief on his seat. After just "I don't know, I dont see, Not my issue" statements, Atma gave some heavy words to wake up.

Going back the boys came along, folded hands and asked for pardon. Accepting and telling them to go now to the village chief and ask for pardon, they agreed to do so. If they did, the village chief have changed mind from angry at Atma to grateful and understanding of what all is about.

Every year the same... merit time over, harvesting as much as possible and disappearing for the time till new year usually... it's a 'monk' and 'priest' habit, not abound common ways.

The last months only, he used off all coffee and else, he stored in his house, aside of the daily given at the Ashram.

There is no end of not seeing goodness and ingratitude. The slightest small test would be failed. 7 years of on and on compassion is really enough.

[Johann]

1 and 1/2 beg of cement was left over at the upper Kuti. That it wouldn't get lost and since the pool has no inlet yet, Atma thought good to complete the last step and to pave the area in front.

Finally carried all up, incl sand, till late afternoon, whether left an opening and till 1 hour after dark the work has been done (pool now having also a natural inlet and place paved.)

Not so easy to go down in total darkenes, but as step bases had been build already, safe arrive back.

Since month using the entrance bath room, since mostly late, the last days, since no water at the Ashram, going as usual down, bringing back tools into store, cleaning up hall, taking tonic, quick shower and that late evening up.
If still electricity, then sharing the merits met and finally writting intro to the Suttas devoted audio recorded and sharing the Dhamma gift further. At 6, then in the morning, down to the Ahirajametta Sala and about 7 then the alms round.

Upasaka, who used to serve at fests at Wat Sambok Andeit, with defect finger, gave it with the alms bow at the Ahirajametta Sala days before. An old tradition found in the Jataka as well "so that no war might arise because lacking and not share the basics".
