It's importand to see possibilities to give as just possibilities to give, not making it ones own. That's especially in regard of the Gem's. Once one makes an issue ones own, unskilful states of mind will follow. The effect of ones good concidered giving for another aren't in ones control, while the maintaining of ones toughts are to a certain extent.

This training isn't one to control things as one wishes them to be but focous on what could I let go off so that it is of use for the receiver. It's not even sure that the receiver would be happy of your giving. Neither is it under your conroll whether he would be willing or capable to receive but that isn't you main focus because you wouldn't know for the most time, as well you wouldn't know if it would be of help. It could be even the opposite if the receiver takes on it wrong.

Sure much knowledge but most over good observance is of help here yet a spontanious gift has it's effect as well, sometimes even more less with desire of control. You offer and let go of both, your gift and the objectives and thought effects outwardly of your sphere "may it be for you welfare and happiness". And for your remembering you good deeds you remember you goodness and not things like "I did it", "I was who made that". Sure, certain success might be a quick rippen fruit of you deed or deeds before and brings additional joy, but it would be wrong if such does not arise to be seen in direct relation, that you good action was a failure.

So it's good to focuse not on fruits but simply on the way things are done, you pleasure in letting go, your freedom of choices. The receivers part is his and of course the more worthy in receiving gifts the higher the effects, before giving, while, and after.

Just this short Dhamma, when seeing right, would assist to strive beyond and let go of root delusion: "What ever takes birth, is subject to decay."

What is one able to give? What's yours? If there havn't been others suffering either voluntary or even forces, what is one able to give.

If there hasn't been one giving some scotch, how could another batch the shell of a snail.

There are so many conditions, many individual intentions, that it's hard to ever trace the line.

Or doing merits. People think it's easy, but it isn't, since there are many around who wouldn't like one to make good.

Some days ago, as a group came up, Atma asked them "Who is coming up here", and the leader said "One tourist bus from Kampong Speu".

"Don't say so, don't say so. Goodness, skilful intention, had brought it up till here."

How did you come up here, and how many, as far as remembering, had given conditions for such steps, how often didn't you take on, how often was something wast to increase bond to low.

It's truly hard to know ones own purity of mind, and nearly impossible to know that of others. But again, what ever received can be used to purify ones mind, step by step.

While it's good to rejoice with ones own goodness, it's importand to know that one is just a chain of the goodness, of good intenions, derived from real giver, those liberal "being" one should not hesitate to become equal them.

If reflecting that beings are heir of their actions, what they (incl. oneself if not liberated) do will fall back on them isn't meant to neglegt possibilities of giving, especially at the five right times.

That's the reason, that's the cause for oneself as well, that one might help (yet unknown where and when).

It's really good to often think on how many beings around, strating with ones parents, sacrificed a lot where they could have made the opposite as well. Material things are actually a small part, thinking on how many beings could have harmed one, sometimes even understandable.

It's total nonsens and leads just to bad mind states, as soon as one starts to seek such as justice, someting general valid, aside of good thoughts, speech, deeds will bear fruits for one, bad and unwise as well.

So the greatest gift to gife is Dhamma, inspiring to generosity, care, virtue and renouncing. There isn't a gift, given or received, higher and for long lasting happiness. Yet, even if skilled in Dhamma, by deeds and meanings, only less, very less, could receive it, and possible take on it.

And even if there is great Bound, like between parents and child, teacher and devoted disciples, the Buddha and his most devoted Monks, it still, at least, remains like to batch a broken shell of a snail.

Beings are hire of their deeds, so it's good to value one blessed sitiation and use it for further large steps to liberation instead of trying to even take on controll of other beings Khandhas.

It's taking form, feeling, formations, perceptions consciousness as ones own, that hinders one of giving, letting go, to be able to help without any selfinterest in this world.

It's not said, that also a layman could not act like the moon also in his sphere, never taking side and just teach and do what is praisworthy to do: SN 16.3: Candūpama Sutta — Comparable to the Moon .

Ones main task, to follow after, if wise, is laying down the debt toward, the world, the sense and to head upwardly, leaving that what so uncountable being are steady waiting for, behind. The lighter one raft, yet it wouldn't work without, the easier to get through the difficult passages, and once arrived on the other shore, even of ones raft one can let go.

Not so into Dhamma, being touched by lack or suffering of others, becoming attached, take things or beings for our own, it's common and usual to desire to maintain dear things and one tries to help.

Actually such is mostly an undertaking of trying to take control over thinks which are actually not under ones control, but a net of individual kamma, and conditions.

Of course, the more related to each other, the more similar tendecies, the more possibilities of contributions and giving are there, but at least there are just possibilities to give of which may be a little under ones control.

This morning there was a smell of sickness and death in the cave as Atma woke up. First not knowing the cause, Atma later found a large slug lying on the bed. Having fallen down it happened that a large part of the snail shell was broken away and it's entrails hug outside while wriggling in pain.

The very fist reaction is usually kind of aversion incl. not to be involved in sufferings reallity. On one hand one likes to help, on the other one likes to avoid the 1. Noble truth, bad signs, smells, touches...

"It will eventually die. Where and how to put most helpful to let the progress run it's way". In moder world and with higher beings, people would call ambulance and maybe donate some and then walk on.

May 1000 other beings await the meal of an eatable snail.

Having not found any place possible providing more ease end and breaking off of the body, scotch came to mind. Having some, Atma carefully batched the brocken part on the shell, covering the vuluntary parts, and the placed it then on a less growded place... fast would hundreds of ants take on what can be taken on, bond to this livelihood, to still their pain as well...

..looking some hours later it seems that it at least could turn back into the shell and rests with lesser pains.
