Luang Por Baen died on the 16th January 2020 (same day as Ajahn Chah) at his monastery Wat Doi Dhammachedi in Sakhon Nakhon, Thailand. He was a senior Dhammayut forest monk close to Luangta Maha Boowa and known for his strict adherence to the Vinaya and meditation practice. He instructed his disciples to keep his funeral simple and not to do any Abhidhamma chanting as it is not appropriate for a forest monk. Today is his funeral with many people attending:
