Title: Maras tricks
Post by: Dhammañāṇa on March 19, 2019, 03:15:15 PM
Once one sacrifices a lot, makes a great gift for others, or all, a lot of joy arises, where there is a lot of joy avaliable, Mara, or one defilments go right inbetween, so that one would not use it for release and become free f Mara. He would tell one: "Look, how great you are, how mighty in giving...." pulling on the strings of conceit.

That's the point where it is important to keep up right view and remember gratitude. Who comes along that peaceful? Who gives in ways hardly one could give? It's not me, it's the product of goodness received from a lineage free of stinginess and those following their tradition.
It's by the goodness of so many, headed by the Buddha, Dhamma, Sangha, that one may come in peace, one may make great sacrifices.

That's why. one should reflect always the higherst, the parents and ancestor of the Noble family when meeting even tiny goodness every day. It's goodness that gives, goodness that comes in peace, goodness that one meets Khema. Not is there a inherent goodness in such as a person to be found. Only if void of self-identification higher goodness arises, higher goodness will be received.

It is because of that, that the near disciples of the Buddha are called Brah Karuna, because it's the goodness of the Buddha, the goodness of the Dhamma, the goodness of the Sangha and their many devoted followers, which has carried this form, sound, smell, tast, touch and thought along, perceived as being what appeares as the assembling of the aggregates. It's goodness that gives rise and maintains such in the world and with every little making it ones own it disappears, runs out and after a while a Buddha appeared, it's no more traceable at large, disappears to invisibility in the world.

Beware of Mara, Kilesa-mara, and do not let them keep you from the last tiny step into another ancestorship, bound to liberation and freedom from all suffering, becoming someone who is really able to give his "own", Buddha, Dhamma, Sangh, freely where it could bear fruits.

That's all listen to the Dhamma, one time happy, another time conflicts, loving him or this, then hating or annoyed. There is no such as inherent, either in others or in oneself. And what one meets and experiances is a matter of past and present acts of will. Watching at the four places for mindfulness and not taking old from one topic, into the next, that is careful listen to the Dhamma.
