...you know their minds and you can connect with them on a very deep level
Dem Schmerz ausgeliefert...
I can’t do this anymore
Der Freuden entzogen...
I can’t see good, I can’t hear good, everything hurts, I wish would hurry up and die already
Dann Dummköpfen begegnen... Ärzten, Buddhisten, Mönchen!!
Euthanasia is not something you do to a sentient being - it is something you do for a sentient being
The fact that we have the option of administering euthanasia at the proper time is a blessing
“When the time comes that her suffering is insurmountable and she is terminal then I will do what is best for her, "my" kamma be damned. I love her too much to let her writhe in pain in a terminal situation over concerns for "my" outcome. If I have to burn in hell to alleviate her unnecessary suffering so be it. It wouldn't be the first time. I can't imagine having her crying out in pain, crapping all over the floor, puking, wasting away and then there I am.....worrying about my fate. This is Buddhism?
If any of my beloved pets were to contract a terminal disease, and were suffering without hope of recovery, I'd be willing to accept the kamma of agreeing to a peaceful medical euthanasia. How that affects my rebirth is on me. If the act is done with wisdom, empathy and compassion, then I might be comfortable assuming a reasonably good rebirth, assuming all of my acts done in this life have been reasonably wholesome and compassionate”.
Und die moderne Weisheit dann auch noch über Buddhas stellen... Dhamma-WIKI !
The orthodox Classical Theravada view is that euthanasia is wrong because any deliberate killing is considered unacceptable. However, a Modern Theravada interpretation, which relies more on the actual Suttas and not later writings might be that euthanasia is acceptable in some instances where the patient is terminal and there is severe pain and suffering.
