Title: It's all about the basics, and hard to abstain from wrong view

Only when one forgets goodness, falls into states of "i have a right", only then one is able to harm himself, harm others, go after all kind of unskilful ideas and deeds.

[1] “Of those, right view is the forerunner. And how is right view the forerunner? One discerns wrong view as wrong view, and right view as right view. This is one's right view. And what is wrong view? 'There is nothing given, nothing offered, nothing sacrificed. There is no fruit or result of good or bad actions. There is no this world, no next world, no mother, no father, no spontaneously reborn beings; no brahmans or contemplatives who, faring rightly & practicing rightly, proclaim this world & the next after having directly known & realized it for themselves.' This is wrong view.

“And what is right view? Right view, I tell you, is of two sorts: There is right view with effluents [asava], siding with merit, resulting in the acquisitions [of becoming]; and there is noble right view, without effluents, transcendent, a factor of the path.

“And what is the right view that has effluents, sides with merit, & results in acquisitions? 'There is what is given, what is offered, what is sacrificed. There are fruits & results of good & bad actions. There is this world & the next world. There is mother & father. There are spontaneously reborn beings; there are brahmans & contemplatives who, faring rightly & practicing rightly, proclaim this world & the next after having directly known & realized it for themselves.' This is the right view that has effluents, sides with merit, & results in acquisitions.

“And what is the right view that is without effluents, transcendent, a factor of the path? The discernment, the faculty of discernment, the strength of discernment, analysis of qualities as a factor for Awakening, the path factor of right view of one developing the noble path whose mind is noble, whose mind is free from effluents, who is fully possessed of the noble path. This is the right view that is without effluents, transcendent, a factor of the path.

“One tries to abandon wrong view & to enter into right view: This is one's right effort. One is mindful to abandon wrong view & to enter & remain in right view: This is one's right mindfulness. Thus these three qualities — right view, right effort, & right mindfulness — run & circle around right view.

[2] “Of those, right view is the forerunner. And how is right view the forerunner? One discerns wrong resolve as wrong resolve, and right resolve as right resolve. This is one's right view. And what is wrong resolve? Being resolved on sensuality, on ill will, on harmfulness. This is wrong resolve.

“And what is right resolve? Right resolve, I tell you, is of two sorts: There is right resolve with effluents, siding with merit, resulting in the acquisitions [of becoming]; and there is noble right resolve, without effluents, transcendent, a factor of the path. ...

Idiots all over suggest themselves and others that higher noble right view is a different, but wrong view stays simply wrong view, and deeds, efforts, giving, is what even remains for Arahats, what the more for common folk.

Ingratitude and wrong view darkens the world, and denying goodness makes it more and more unbearable, creeps in like cancer.

The blanket of head hair

[138] Bhikkhus, of cloth woven with different kinds of thread, the blanket made of head hair, should be proclaimed the most miserable, when cold it is cold, when hot it is hot, it isn't beautiful, its smell is evil and it is unpleasant to the touch. Bhikkhus, in the same manner it should be declared that of the various beliefs of various recluses, Makkhali's view is the most miserable. Bhikkhus, Makkhali the foolish man is of this view: There is no action, there is nothing done, there is no effort.

Bhikkhus, those who became worthy and rightfully enlightned in the past, those Blessed Ones too were of the view there is action, there is action done, and effort should be made. They too shut out the foolish man Makkhali's view. There is no action, there is nothing done, there is no effort.

Bhikkhus, those who will become worthy and rightfully enlightned in the future, those Blessed Ones too will be of the view there is action, there is action done, and effort should be made. They too will shut out the foolish man Makkhali's view. There is no action, there is nothing done, there is no effort.

Bhikkhus, I too worthy and rightfully enlightned at present, am of the view there is action, there is action done, and effort should be made. I too shut out the foolish man Makkhali's view. There is no action, there is nothing done, there is no effort.

Bhikkhus, a net thrown at the mouth of the river ensnares many fish, to their ill fate, unpleasantness and disaster in the same manner Makkhali the foolish man's net entices many sentient beings, to their ill fate, unpleasantness and disaster.

It's of course easier to walk on (at least for the moment) to deny own goodness, deny others sacrifices, but it's just cheating for short ease.

What ever way does not only depend on goodness of others but also uses off old own goodness, if stopping in doing, efforts.

Going on is always a matter of becoming indebted, so the question is only toward whom, toward what.

Only an Arahat can "consume" without debts, and who ever strives for an end of desire, who ever has gained the state of being a person on gratitude, is worthy of gift, even if not perfect and total free of desires.

May as many not fall into debt of fake teachings which suggest one that there is something free to consume. May nobody ever suggest others that receiving has no debts as effect, since once bond and actually striving for different, the Robin hood's following will be very angry with him, having cheated them and drove them into great debt. Like poor without virtues are given loans, never capable to ever pay back the loan but simply caught for larger ruin, Maras lie.

Debt or no debt isn't a question, like deed or no deed, effort or no effort, self or no-self, but to whom, which and for what purpose.
