Use of email-server based messenger - Delta similar - possible for Sangha?

Maybe a possibility to public join the/a sangham.net chart: Public Groups - a bot to let others join your channel . It seems to work with QR-code. Atma has no idea of how it works (scan...), actually, but seems to be a common increasing way.

Maybe good to inform the Head of goodness of the province, Me Gun kait, that the Sangha had been given this app to use, while my person had received it for it. As not able to carry alone, my person request the help of the Sangha to bring the given to it's objected place by assistance in translation. Maybe Bhante Putny could forward it to Venerable. Downloading app and make use of it may also help in regard of communication.

Does one, if just added in a chat, get's an email, invitation? Seemingly yes, also if removing and if understood right, info (copy of mail) to all members.
As all members have same possibilities in administration, one can delete onself (also others) from the chat/mail-list. The whole group would be informed about ones administrative action(s).

Two topics, maybe interesting if not just wishing to wait that others solve things but inspiration, skill and means to modify app by oneself:

It's sure not so easy to accept that worlds and habits are different, and what then arises is what most call culture-shock, actually a kind of Samvega, having hold ones own perceptions of world for truth, annoyed about other customs not understanding them, seeming more harmfull then onse own (getting out of the box of ones propaganda-machinery/preoccupations). It requires to give up self-views (sakkayaditthi), and the other four lower fetters, to be really able to help others out and in into the Stream.

If seeing the potency right, it should be possible to manage website notifications, such as mentions, or even Admin or Mod notifications, such as new member, very well via this app without the need of google-enviroment, as once suggested "doing notifications via email-server", right?, Nyom Moritz . And it looks like being not that slow or akku resources eating as thought (not sure whether Nyom already tried the app as alternative email client)

I tried the app short on laptop, although not much yet.

It seems to work well, although I see some disadvantages over normal e-mail clients (which can also be set up on mobile phone to receive notifications). Of course a great advantage could be to have just one app, one way to explain for everyone, and the possibility to even customize it specially in an own fork for sangham.net, maybe even integrate it with registration here through the app.

Of course the hurdle is still how to get e-mail for those who don't have such.
Installing this unknown messenger app is another.



So for now I am just working on better ways to register at sangham.net.

What I would like to achieve:

1. Possibility to register with only a password, and without any Captcha or similar confusing tasks, while still keeping bots away.

2. Option to set existing e-mail during registration, but not required. Just for notification or to request forgotten password etc.

3. Option to add mobile number for same purpose, not required. Notification through SMS, but (because it costs money) only for important cases like forgotten password, or if verification is necessary

4. Option to ask for a Sangham e-mail account during registration which would be automatically set up.


This seems to be the most useful to concentrate on here for now. And it takes time.

A mentioned Sangham-app, or added portal-page to delta could make such possible. The app simply storing such as ones own pw's, email adresses, phone no., and then actually acting as verified bot to enter the pages, applications. Does Nyom see the idea? A Sangha-messenger app, helping one meeting each other and enter given places and tools. Like one carry ones keys and identification certificates, a trusty.

Maybe useful for inspiration: there is a bot to register in discourse-forums via delta-chat directly. The Discourse Login Bot - login to this forum with just a QR code!

Discourse is made more open for using email to post and read topics => use would be completely by delta - chat possible is opened up likewise here.

As bots are obiviously more skilled for task like sign-up, register, they might solve problems.

As the gift has actually high potential and being a perfect tool for online teaching as well, my person would like to ask what it would take to make a real access-able tool for the Sangha and for good purposes.

What, how much, would such developent take if making use of skilled developer?

Things to add:

* Key-carrier: A kind of password and data store and manager (maybe similar  like certain existing "autoregister-helper". Important to have telephon no. as primary key.
* Server-supplier: auto-register on a chosen or given email-server (gaining address and serverspace) maybe some bots.
* Portalpage: guiding to ones key-carrier and server-supplyer, links to ones main applications (here: forum.sangham, sangham, sangha-messenger, but open to add (in connection with key-carrier)
* Import/export of contacts and administration, incl. managing of contact-groups.
* Layout, logo
* small performance works

Making thinks easy change-able, the app can be a perfect working tool, even possible to run a whole school-system, not to speak of management, yet dependency limited and free chose-able.

Good if there would be a possibility to make, on order, disscussion groups public visible, say by a chain of commands, building and renewing a website for this "Chat"'s display, maybe on a docuwiki page.

One would there be served by ways how to actively access. Atma tries to make it accessable by making a topic (converting sound-files into jpg is still not easy, as such tool isn't given).

Thoughts in regard of storage and maintaining:

Here in this case datas would be stored, taking use by 3 people, and public accessibility: 3 times on the mail server, 1 time on the web server and 3 times (one each) on the particular device.

If all would be abound on one place, such would be sure and reduction of storage need and maintaining it.

Sure, if abound on device, produced traffic might increase.

A way to leave store on device optional open, would solve this as well.

The general idea of "all store and maintain 'given, received' seperatly actually causes at least more memory sacrifices.

In regard of monks, sure lesser burdensome for all if simply abound thing within the Sangha.

Out of this view point, a central web-served solution, with possibility to store conversations on ones device seems not to be that much harmful and burdensome.
